Cindy Kay (Yates) Bowersmith was born to Jack and Joan (Gardner) Yates, Sr. on December 15, 1962 in Long Beach, California. She moved with her family back to the southeast Nebraska area. She graduated from Tecumseh High School.

Raelyn Kay Welniak of Ackley, IA. March 20, 1968-March 19th, 2022. Raelyn Welniak, originally from Dunbar and Nebraska City, Nebraska passed away in Mason City Iowa on March 19th, 2022 surrounded by all of her children. Raelyn grew up in Dunbar and raised her 5 children in Nebraska City. Raelyn touched the lives of so many. She was a beautiful soul. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dunbar School House in Dunbar, NE on April 2nd, 2022 at 2 pm. Flowers can be sent through Nebraska City Floral(nebcityflorist.com).

Lisa Renae Newburn, age 49 of Nebraska City died March 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Lisa was born January 12, 1973 in Lincoln, the daughter of Robert H. and Jeannette D. (Warkow) Bauch. She married Michael Newburn August 29, 2003 in Lincoln. Lisa liked reading, gardening, planting and tending to her many flowers, puzzle books, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed activities with her husband, children and family members. Survivors include her husband Michael and children, Victoria and Isabella of Nebraska City; mother, Jeannette Bauch of Lincoln; brother, Doug (Shelly) Bauch of Lincoln; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Frank and Aileen Warkow and William and Mary Bauch.

Linda M. Bell, age 82 of Nebraska City passed away on Monday evening; March 14, 2022 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.

Valerie Bennie has received a $1,000 scholarship from Alpha XI chapter Nebraska City Beta Sigma Phi. She is the daughter of Rick and Brooklyn Bennie and is a senior at Nebraska City High School, where she participates in student council, National Honor Society, varsity speech, one-act competitive theatre, varsity tennis, and the Varsity Singers NCHS Choir, where she sings soprano.

Robert J. Lechner, age 55 of Nebraska City passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE.
