William W. Witty Jr.

William W. Witty Jr., 79 of Syracuse, passed away on May 1, 2022, after a short battle with dementia. William was born on November 25, 1942, to William & Janice (Miesbach) Witty in Nebraska City. After high school he joined the Air Force Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1967.

Mildred Mae Allen

Mildred Mae Allen, age 91 of Nebraska City died April 27, 2022 at The Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City. Mildred was born April 16, 1931 in Cass County, the daughter of John and Grace (Montgomery) Everett. She married Clifford Allen June 11, 1950 in Nebraska City and lived in the Union and Nebraska City area her entire life. Clifford died January 30, 2012. Mildred was a homemaker and worked with her husband at the Coca-Cola Distributorship for many years before she retired. Mildred was a member of the Nebraska City Eagles Auxiliary and a former member of Community of Christ Church. She was a longtime Girl Scout Leader, Red Cross volunteer and member of the PTA. Mildred loved bowling and attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Burton Dean Weible

Burton Dean Weible, age 66 of Nebraska City died April 23, 2022 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. Burt was born June 25, 1955 in Sacramento, CA, the son of G. J. and Hazel “Joan” (Leeper) Weible. He married Rosalee Hammers November 24, 1973 in Nebraska City. Rosalie died March 7, 2002. Cindy Murphy and Burt were united in marriage June 26, 2004 in Nebraska City. Burt lived in various areas around the world and in the United States while his father was in the Air Force, before moving to Nebraska City in 1971. He worked for several years at American Meter and Elliott Equipment before his retirement. Burt was a member of Bethel Church and F.O.E. No. 968 in Nebraska City. He was a former member of the Nebraska City Rescue Squad and NCHS Booster Club and had served as a softball coach. He enjoyed hunting and reading country western books and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and L.A. Rams fan. Survivors include his wife Cindy of Nebraska City; daughter, Danielle (Chad) Barrett of Nebraska City; sons, Jason (Kelly) Weible of Villa Park, IL, Michael (Rena) Betts of Nebraska City; Scott (Becky) Betts of Nebraska City; grandchildren, Michael, Chloe, Morgan, Dakota, Cody, Hayden, Austin, Randy, Dylan and Brayden; great grandchildren, Nova, Cullan, Emily and Jaxon; sister, Sandy (Scott) Ruether of Staplehurst; brothers, Marvin (Robin) Weible of Craig, CO and Bruce (Natalie) Weible of Oak Ridge, TN; father in law, LeRoy Hammers; brothers in law, Dale (Pam) Hammers, Tom Murphy, Roy (Nancy) Murphy, John Murphy, and Bow Steedly; sisters in law, Terry Hammers and Brenda (Randy) Rogman; aunts, Marilyn Weible, Suzie Briley, Katie Chapin, Lois Rodriguez and Bev Jordan; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rosalee; daughter Jennifer; sister-in-law, Linda Clark, mother-in-law, Iona Hammers and brother-in-law, Eldon Hammers.

Debbi Jean (Ritchey) Vaske

Debbi Jean (Ritchey) Vaske, 65, died peacefully on March 30, 2022, under the care of hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer. Debbi was born in Mason City, Iowa, to Actton Ritchey and Marcella (Braun) Ritchey of Northwood, Iowa. Debbi graduated from Northwood Kensett High School. Per Debbi’s wishes her body has been cremated and the family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Debbi was married to her first husband and was blessed with two wonderful children, Brian and Traci. In 2006, Debbi married her soul mate and love of her life, Fred Vaske. She worked for 38 years in the Insurance industry. She earned the AINS designation on Nov 2, 2021. She retired from Mertz Insurance where she worked for 21 years as a commercial underwriter. Debbi is survived by her husband Fred, son Brian Weig (Kerry), her daughter Traci Giles (Stephen), her stepsons Scott Vaske (Stephanie), and Nick Vaske; her five grandchildren: Edison, Xavier, Mayzi, Gwen, and Harper along with her three step grandchildren Lilly, Ellie, and Lacie Vaske; and her sister, Tammy (Mike) and their three children. Debbi is preceded in death by her father (Actton Ritchey), mother (Marcella Ritchey), her grandparents Herman and Ella Ritchey and Lawrence and Helen Braun, and several Aunts and Uncles. Debbi was a blessing to everyone she knew and had a rich relationship with Christ.

Judith (Schroeter) Schwab

Judith, Judy, (Schroeter) Schwab was born July 13, 1944 and passed from this life on April 16, 2022. She was the daughter of Otto & Dorothy Schroeter. Judy was their first-born child. She was perfect at her birth order position as she was always happy, quick to please and very loving.
