Eight students from the NCHS Class of 2024 were recently selected as recipients of the Richard and Melinda Kleineweber Memorial Scholarships from the Nebraska City Public School Foundation. Each will receive a $6,000 award sent to their institution of higher education.
The Nebraska City Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the Class of 2025 NCPS Foundation Scholarships and the institutions they are currently attending this fall. All recipients are 2025 graduates of Nebraska City High School.
“Backyard Farmer” will record a live episode at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island on Monday, Aug. 25.

Hundreds of dollars was raised at the 4-H Specialty Food Auction held Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Otoe County Fair. Several 4-H’ers presented their baked goods. Emma Beede’s baked goods brought the highest bid at $360. Mark Easter was the auctioneer. Participants receive 50% of the proceeds while the other 50% goes to the council.

Lydia Van Meter was named the All-Around Showmanship Champion at the Round Robin Livestock contest at the Otoe County Fair.
