‘Vegas Night’ is Lourdes Central Catholic Prom Theme

The Lourdes Central Catholic High School classes of 2025 and 2026 hosted their prom Saturday, March 29, at the Nebraska City Veterans Memorial Building. This year’s theme was “Vegas Night: This Is How We Roll” and the evening featured after-prom events at GG Wellness Center. New Extension Educator

Hello! I’m Barry Weber, the new, as of December, Livestock Systems Extension Educator for Nemaha, Richardson, Johnson, Pawnee, Gage, Jefferson, and Saline counties. I grew up outside of Friend on a farm with crops and cattle before I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study Animal Science. I returned to UNL to complete a master’s degree in Ruminant Nutrition. After working with a few different companies and having traveled around the country visiting all types of cattle operations, I’m happy to have landed back in southeast Nebraska.

Rotary donates to CASA program

Nebraska City Rotary Club President Don Loseke, right, presented $500 to Debbie Green and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program at the club’s Feb. 19 meeting. The donation came from money contributed by members during February meetings and then matched by the club. CASA volunteers provide support for children in foster care.
