NCPD offers special commemorative patch for autism awareness

April is Autism Awareness Month and the Nebraska City Police Department is helping to raise awareness about autism with a special commemorative shoulder patch that shows Arbor Lodge on the backdrop of a collection of puzzle pieces that symbolize autism’s complex nature. Proceeds from patch sales will help fund the NCPD’s Project Lifesaver program, which can help reunite individuals who might wander away from safety because of a cognitive condition and their families. Patches are $10 each and can be purchased at the Nebraska City Police Department, 1518 Central Ave. Project Lifesaver services are available to any resident of Nebraska City free of charge if that person meets the eligibility criteria. Call 402-873-6666 or email nebraskacitypolice@nc-pd.org for more information.
