Visitors to the July Farmer’s Market at Grimm’s Gardens in Nebraska City had the opportunity to enjoy a sweet treat from an unusual source on Saturday, July 20.Grimm’s Gardens founder Doug Grimm brought homemade ice cream and his ice cream maker: his father’s 1949 Farmall H tractor.

Retiring Nebraska City Police Department Chief Dave Lacy is a fine storyteller, and 43 years in law enforcement have given him many stories to tell.Chief Lacy spent part of his last week on the job as the featured speaker at the July Hot Topics on July 10 at the Morton-James Public Library.Lacy admitted he questioned his decision to join the force during his first shift in August 1981.

The Nebraska City Economic Growth Fund has provided two downtown improvement grants and made a loan to an existing Nebraska City business in fiscal year 2023-2024.The Nebraska City City Council heard a biannual update on the fund from fund administrator Dan Mauk, executive director of the Nebraska City Area Economic Development Corp.
