Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from the Keith County Sheriff ’s Office, have arrested two people following a pursuit in Keith County. At approximately 7:45 p.m. MT Thursday, Feb. 24, a trooper observed a Nissan Rogue driving with expired license plates on I-80 near Roscoe, at mile marker 133. The trooper attempted a traffic stop. The driver initially slowed down to pull over, but then accelerated and fled. The trooper initiated a pursuit.
Eleven students from Lourdes Central Catholic competed in the Nebraska Academic Decathlon State Competition held at Bellevue University on Feb. 18 and 19 and brought home major hardware, placing firstin the Very Small Schools category, designated as schools with enrollment of up to 126 in grades 9-12. The Lourdes team also placed third in the Small Schools category, which expands to include schools with an enrollment under 650.
Since Southeast Community College Culinary/ Hospitality program Instructor Brandon Harpster is “obsessed with dry-aged meats,” he’s especially excited about the latest addition to the program: A dry meat ager.

Students and staff at the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind or Visually Handicapped (NECEBVI) celebrated 2-22-22 as Tutu Day. Mrs. Robke modeled a tutu made especially for her by the residential students, Toni Bruce went all in for the special day, and Mrs. Graves struck her best ballerina pose for the photographers. While the food service staff didn't wear tutus, they got in the spirit of the day by adding large "2"s to their uniforms.
