Arbor Day Poster Contest winners announced

The winners of the annual Arbor Day Poster Contest for students in kindergarten through fifth grade were announced during the April 29 children's programs at Northside Elementary and at the mansion at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park. This year's winners, who were recognized at the morning Northside program, are Luna Neeman, Northside, kindergarten; Allie Schnitzer, Lourdes Central Catholic, first grade; and Mya Pals, Northside, second grade. Recognized at the afternoon Arbor Lodge program were Gwen Ebmeier, Lourdes Central Catholic, third grade; Emsly Shannon, Hayward, fourth grade; and Noah Walker, Hayward, fifth grade.

Rotary Club hears about new County Line Helicopter Precision Application business

Helicopters are gaining in popularity for agricultural chemical applications because they provide minimal drift and maximum coverage. That's according to helicopter pilot Galen Kreifels who, along with Heath Gress, talked about their new business, County Line Helicopter Precision Application, at the May 4 meeting of the Nebraska City Rotary Club.
