Burton Dean Weible, age 66 of Nebraska City died April 23, 2022 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. Burt was born June 25, 1955 in Sacramento, CA, the son of G. J. and Hazel “Joan” (Leeper) Weible. He married Rosalee Hammers November 24, 1973 in Nebraska City. Rosalie died March 7, 2002. Cindy Murphy and Burt were united in marriage June 26, 2004 in Nebraska City. Burt lived in various areas around the world and in the United States while his father was in the Air Force, before moving to Nebraska City in 1971. He worked for several years at American Meter and Elliott Equipment before his retirement. Burt was a member of Bethel Church and F.O.E. No. 968 in Nebraska City. He was a former member of the Nebraska City Rescue Squad and NCHS Booster Club and had served as a softball coach. He enjoyed hunting and reading country western books and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and L.A. Rams fan. Survivors include his wife Cindy of Nebraska City; daughter, Danielle (Chad) Barrett of Nebraska City; sons, Jason (Kelly) Weible of Villa Park, IL, Michael (Rena) Betts of Nebraska City; Scott (Becky) Betts of Nebraska City; grandchildren, Michael, Chloe, Morgan, Dakota, Cody, Hayden, Austin, Randy, Dylan and Brayden; great grandchildren, Nova, Cullan, Emily and Jaxon; sister, Sandy (Scott) Ruether of Staplehurst; brothers, Marvin (Robin) Weible of Craig, CO and Bruce (Natalie) Weible of Oak Ridge, TN; father in law, LeRoy Hammers; brothers in law, Dale (Pam) Hammers, Tom Murphy, Roy (Nancy) Murphy, John Murphy, and Bow Steedly; sisters in law, Terry Hammers and Brenda (Randy) Rogman; aunts, Marilyn Weible, Suzie Briley, Katie Chapin, Lois Rodriguez and Bev Jordan; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rosalee; daughter Jennifer; sister-in-law, Linda Clark, mother-in-law, Iona Hammers and brother-in-law, Eldon Hammers.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Bethel Church in Nebraska City with private burial at Wyuka Cemetery.
Visitations 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
