Knight basketball sweeps at Lewiston
The Lourdes girls’ and boys’ basketball teams earned a doubleheader sweep of Lewiston on the road on Thursday, Jan. 23.

TeamMates Mentoring of Nebraska City hosted a fundraising event at halftime of the Nebraska City High School boys’ basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 23. The event, Chuck A Duck, invited participants to buy toy ducks and throw them at a target with the most accurate throwers receiving prizes. TeamMates provides support and encouragement to students through one-to-one, school-based mentoring. The organization’s goal is to positively impact youth to reach their full potential through mentoring. Boyer leads group of five for NC wrestling at Plattsmouth
Five Pioneer grapplers finished with medals led by Noah Boyer at 106 pounds during action at the Plattsmouth boys’ tournament on Saturday, Jan. 25.
NC girls win back-to-back, raise win total to seven
Back-to-back home wins by the Nebraska City girls’ basketball team against Falls City, on Thursday, Jan. 23, and Auburn, on Friday, Jan. 24, raised the squad’s season record to 7-9.
Pioneer offense, defense set tone at home
After a fantastic quarter of scoring offense, the Pioneer defense came alive, and the combination of those factors put the home team in control on the way to a 57-30 win in Nebraska City boys’ basketball action against Falls City on Thursday, Jan. 23.
Pioneer girls’ wrestling sixth at 19-team Plattsmouth meet
A 113-point performance placed the Nebraska City girls’ wrestling team in sixth place out of 19 teams at the Plattsmouth Invite on Friday, Jan. 24.
