Nebraska City Area Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Dan Mauk spoke to the Nebraska City Rotary Club on Jan. 29 about potential economic development in the city. Mauk said three very large projects are in play for the community, and that the corporation’s board is working to increase its budget ahead of hiring Mauk’s replacement after he retires on July 1. Mauk said that the Nebraska City Economic Growth Fund (formerly known as the LB840 Fund) has helped spur economic development. The Fund currently has about $660,000 available for business loans, and its renewal will be up for a vote in 2026.
