The Nebraska City girls’ and boys’ soccer teams will wrap up the regular season and get set for the Trailblazer Conference tournament this week. On Tuesday, April 22, the Pioneer girls’ team (0-9) was scheduled to play at Auburn (0-7). On Tuesday, April 22, the Pioneer boys’ team (1-6) was scheduled to play at Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian (6-2) with another match to follow on Thursday, April 24, at Waverly (5-5).
The Lourdes track teams competed at the Lewiston Invite on Tuesday, April 15, with the girls’ team scoring 44 points for a sixth-place finish in a 10-team field. The Knight boys’ team posted 22 team points.

Isaiah Aldana and Isabelle Johnson were crowned Prom King and Prom Queen at Nebraska City High School on Saturday, April 12. Following a dance at the high school, about 100 students traveled to Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Lincoln for after-prom. Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce has selected a gingko tree reportedly given as a housewarming gift by J. Sterling Morton in the 1880s as the 2025 Arbor Day Prestigious Tree. Ricardo and Lacey J. Garcia and their daughter, Iris, now own the home at 1414 2nd Ave. where the tree has been living in the front yard for almost 140 years.
