The Missouri River Basin-Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Nebraska City was a featured stop May 22 for a group of RV travelers with Adventure Caravans. The group is beginning a 47-day “Lewis and Clark—Reliving the Expedition” trip across the western U.S. following the route of the Corps of Discovery mapped in 1803 to 1805. The tour began May 14 in St. Louis, Mo., and is scheduled to conclude June 29 in Warrenton, Ore.

Mrs. B came into the emergency room one night, years ago, with some stress related issue. After taking her history, I began to suspect there was something else bothering her. As I was beginning her physical exam she blurted out, “I know there is a breast mass but you’re not going to send me to any breast cancer doctor!” She had already decided to avoid standard treatment and her next comment explained why, “My aunt suffered because of awful unnecessary surgery and chemotherapy,” she said. I sensed there was no changing her mind and that meant trouble for my patient.
Two Nebraska City residents were among the 2,009 graduates who received their degrees during commencement ceremonies at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, May 16.

Nebraska City athletes were honored with inclusion in the Trailblazer Conference postseason soccer honors. Pioneer boys’ players were Cutler Adams, first team all conference; Zander Brasuhn and Braedon Watkins, second team all conference; and Julian Rodriguez, all conference honorable mention. Pioneer girls’ players were Adeline Wigington, first team all conference; Miesha Oggs and Makenzie Stoll, second team all conference; and Jojo Thon, all conference honorable mention.
Nebraska City competed at the NSAA State Tennis meet on Thursday, May 22, at Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln.
Members of the Nebraska City High School baseball team were honored by the Trailblazer Conference in their postseason awards. Jesus Martinez was named second team all conference while AJ Rautenbach, James Fairbanks, and Landon Ferguson were named honorable mention all conference.
