The Nebraska City girls’ tennis team traveled for a dual at Crete on April 19 with the home side sweeping the results.In doubles action, Rachel Dia and Malayna Madsen fell 8-1.

Pioneers’ Holman nearly perfect in home loss
Keston Holman struck out 13, walked one and had a perfect game working into the seventh inning on Friday night at home against Plattsmouth, but the visiting Blue Devils scratched across two runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on for a 2-0 win.Both teams ended the game with two hits.
Pioneer golf takes 10th at Beatrice
The Nebraska City golfers were in action on Monday for a tournament at Beatrice and scored a 10th place finish with a team score of 404.Individual scores are Grady Behrends, 90; Brody Koehler, 99; Gage Rasmussen, 107; Henry Baumert, 108 and Austin Meyer, 110.The medal cutoff for 15th place was 89.Nebraska City was scheduled to return action on Friday at Crete, but the weather forecast did not look favorable for the meet.
