Huskers aim to defy gravity again

While browsing through the many entertainment options of YouTube, one video jumped out, but only because it was advertising a topic that has been discussed and dissected in almost every way possible. The video, entitled The Rise and Fall of Nebraska Football, looked to examine the Huskers’ great streak of success from the 1960s to the early 2000s.Like I said, we’ve talked about this a lot before. The video suggested that Nebraska’s football success came from its option offense, its large rosters and walk on program, its strength and conditioning, and relaxed academic standards which allowed the team to grab top talent, combined with fantastic coaches and fantastic facilities. It then suggested that, while Nebraska made mistakes, like firing and hiring the wrong coaches, the main reason Nebraska fell was because football changed, adapted and adopted the kinds of strategies that made Nebraska football a success.
