Maryanne M. Teten, age 71 of Nebraska City passed away on August 25, 2015.

 

She was born on December 18, 1943 in Lincoln, NE; the daughter of Henry and Marian (Michel)

Stier.  She attended school in Lincoln and graduated from the University High School on the campus of the University of Nebraska with the class of 1961.  She then attended Nebraska Weslyan University in Lincoln.

 

Maryanne was united in marriage to David A. Teten on October 7, 1962 at the Salem Congregational Church in Lincoln and to this union four children were born:  Michelle, Daniel,

Melissa and Derek. 

 

She was a long-time employee of the Nebraska City Public Schools where most recently she worked as Secretary to Don Loseke, Director of Student Services.  In total, she worked for the Nebr. City Schools for some 36 years.  She was a long-time member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City and served the church in numerous ways including the Church Council and as a

Sunday School Teacher.

 

She is survived by her husband David Teten of Nebr. City; children:  Michelle Richardson and husband Scott of Tabor, IA, Melissa Bertelsen and husband Mark of Papillion, NE and Derek Teten and wife Lindsey of Otoe, NE; six grandchildren:  Tyler Richardson, Blake Richardson, Noah Richardson, Matthew Bertelsen, Chloe Bertelsen and Christian Bertelsen; a sister Sandra “Fifie” Weideman of Lincoln, NE three nieces and three nephews, other family and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her son Daniel in 2011 and a sister Wilma Michael in 1999 as well as her parents.

 

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday; Sept. 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City with Pastor Randy Rasmussen officiating;   Inurnment will be held at a later date.

 

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (8/30) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

 

Memorials may be given to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebr. City. Gude Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
