The Nebraska City City Council will be meeting at 6 p.m. at City Hall Monday for it's first August meeting.
The agenda items for Monday's meeting are as follows:
Appointing Adam Howard and Vaughn Hammond to the Tree Board;
An update on the current hiring process of a Nebraska City Police Department officer and a new Morton-James Public Library director;
Discussion and-or approval for hiring a fourth temporary paramedic due to a current employee suffering from an off-duty injury;
A Nebraska City Recreation Agency update regarding the new aquatic center;
Considering a request from Unite Private Networks to use the right-of-way to provide fiber support to Lourdes Central Catholic School;
Considering the approval of a manager application for Renee Snyder for a Walgreen's liquor license;
Considering the approval of the combined utilities budget as amended at the Board of Public Works meeting on July 15;
Considering a request from Western Star Lodge No. 2 for the reservation of a shelter and to have the fees waived on Aug. 8;
Resolution 2676-15 regarding the program agreement between the Nebraska Department of Roads and the City of Nebraska City Supplement No. 1;
A presentation from City Administrator Grayson Path about updating the city's budget material and requesting the return of the CIP sheets;
Considering a request from LaVera and Ted Lyon for the removal of the gates from the Lyon property near 62 and G roads;
Considering a request for a special designated liquor license for  Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard for an event at Whispering Pines Bed & Breakfast on Aug. 30;
Considering a request from Harvey Varenhorst to vacate portions of the ROW in the 400 blocks of 4th Rue and 5th Terrace;
Considering a request from the River City Classics Car Club to close Central Avenue from 6th to 11th streets Sept. 20 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the annual Applejack Car Show and for the Streets Department to supply barricades;
Ordinance No. 2964-15 the change the deadline for filing the proposed budget statement;
Ordinance No. 2965-15 the change the deadline for filing and certifying a copy of the adopted budget statement;
Considering readopting the LB 840 Downtown District Assistance Program;
Considering the approval of temporary and permanent easement adjacent to the Nebraska City Public Schools property for the Teinhart Trail Project and authorize Mayor Bryan Bequette to sign;
Discussion and-or action to secure an appraiser for the Kearney Hill CIS Project;
Considering the approval to purchase a F-750 single-axel dump truck for the Streets Department;
Discussion about a request for proposals for potential IT support contract for all city departments;
A closed to the public strategy session with respect to the collective bargaining;
And discussion and-or action on a proposed contract with the NCPD officers bargaining unit.
