A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, and Nebraska City law enforcement agencies are asking for the public's help in solving the crime.
According to a Nebraska City Police Department press release, the police responded to a residential burglary in the area of north 8th Street and 4th Avenue on Wednesday.
NCPD Capt. Lonnie Neeman said entry into the home was gained through a window on Tuesday evening.
Neeman said numerous firearms, including rifles, shotguns and pistols were taken from the residence, and personal property was also stolen.
A silver vehicle, belonging to the homeowner, was also taken from the garage and used to haul the stolen property away Tuesday evening. However, the vehicle was returned to the garage early Wednesday morning.
Neeman said the stolen firearms is a huge concern for law enforcement.
"Any time firearms are stolen then obviously that's a safety issue for law enforcement," he said.
The NCPD is asking the Nebraska City Crime Stoppers and the public for any information or assistance in solving this burglary. If anyone has any information about a suspect or suspects involved or where the stolen property is located, people can contact the police department, Crime Stoppers or the Otoe County Sheriff's Office.
If the information given results in the arrest of the responsible parties or the stolen property is recovered, a cash reward will be paid.
