Ronald Condon, 70, of Tabor, Iowa, died March 1, 2014 at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a brief illness. He was born Dec. 22, 1943 in Marquette to Clarence Nathaniel and Ortha Lucille (Parker) Condon.

Ronald Condon,  70, of Tabor, Iowa, died March 1, 2014 at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a brief illness.  He was born Dec. 22, 1943 in Marquette to Clarence Nathaniel and Ortha Lucille (Parker) Condon.  


On March 8, 1964, he married Lanina June Eggers in Leigh.  


Ron served for over 20 years on the Tabor Rescue Squad where he was in the first class of EMT’s for the town.  He also served with the Tabor Volunteer Fire Department.


Ron had many occupations throughout his life.  He met Lanina while working at Dale Electronics in Columbus.  After they were married, he worked as a meat cutter at various grocery stores, where he was introduced and hired by Max Carter to work in his Sidney, Iowa, store.  Ron moved from the Sidney store to Tabor, where he worked in both grocery stores that were open at the time.  


He was a business owner, a cable man, and a semi truck owner operator.  


Ron's hard working nature wouldn't allow him to rest even after retirement.  He continued to work, repairing small engines in his home garage.


He was preceded by six sisters, four brothers, and  sons Terry and Todd Condon.  
He is survived by his wife, Lanina Condon of Tabor; daughter Robin Condon Poole and husband Andrew of Carter Lake, Iowa; grandchildren  Elizabeth Lundvall, Jordyn Poole, Olivia Poole and Thomas Poole, all of Carter Lake, Iowa; daughter-in-law Patricia Napolitano of Florida; daughter, Theresa Scheffler and husband Mike of Albion, and their children and grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor with Pastor Jeff Jewett of the Tabor Church of the Nazarene officiating.  


Visitations will be open after 5 p.m. with the family from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel.  A memorial fund has been established and interment will be in the Tabor Cemetery.  


The Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor is in charge of arrangements.
