Mable Theda (Harris) Lawrence, 93, of Tabor, Iowa, has died. She was born to Louis Denmore and Virgie (Young) Harris on June 17, 1920 in Boone County, Ark., and raised on a small farm in the Olvey, Ark., neighborhood.

Mable Theda (Harris) Lawrence, 93, of Tabor, Iowa, has died. She was born to Louis Denmore and Virgie (Young) Harris on June 17, 1920 in Boone County, Ark., and raised on a small farm in the Olvey, Ark., neighborhood.     


On Aug.  19, 1939, she married Loran Lawrence.


After several moves between Arkansas, Missouri and Iowa they finally settled in 1951 on the Swanson Farm near Tabor where they raised their five children.     
Mable is preceded by her husband, Loran;  daughter Connie LaRue Maharg; and sister Edith McDonald.  


She is survived by daughters Janice and Gary Pool of Tabor, Iowa, and Phyllis and David Crom of Tabor; sons John and Kathy Lawrence of Ames, Iowa, and Denny and Carla Lawrence of Wall Lake, Iowa; son-in-law Jay Maharg of Kansas City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends.


Funeral services were March 3 at the Tabor First Christian Church.  Interment was in the Tabor Cemetery and memorials will go to the Tabor First Christian Church or Tabor Fire and Rescue.  


The Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor was in charge of arrangements.
