Erma Ann Meyer, 90, of Syracuse, died Feb. 21, 2014. She was born June 21, 1923 in Syracuse to Ernest and Clara (Lange) Gellerman. She married Ernst on Aug. 9, 1942 in Ventura, Calif.

Erma Ann Meyer, 90, of Syracuse, died Feb. 21, 2014. She was born June 21, 1923 in Syracuse to Ernest and Clara (Lange) Gellerman. She married Ernst on Aug. 9, 1942 in Ventura, Calif.


Erma was a lifelong member of Luther Memorial Church and a member of VFW Auxiliary. She worked as a rural school teacher and as a bookkeeper for Van Housen Bros Oil Co.


Survivors include her children and spouses, Ken and Mary Meyer of Seward, Margo and Norman Poppe of Bloomfield, Steve and Nancy Meyer of Omaha and Stan and Nancy Meyer of Geneva; sister Imogene Bro; sisters-in-law Anna Meyer, Dorothy Meyer and Lydia Sciscoe; grandchildren and spouses: Shelley (Poppe) and Mark Luger, Jill (Meyer) and Randy Bierbuam, Kari (Meyer) and Phil Lenz, Dan and Jenny (Schulte) Meyer, Tammy (Meyer) Zbylut, Allison Meyer, Alex Meyer, Mark Meyer and Beth Meyer; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.


She was preceded by husband Ernst Meyer, grandson Mitchell Poppe, great grandsons William and Mason Meyer, brothers and spouses, Elmer and Verena Gellermann and Harvey and Maxine Gellermann, and brothers-in-law (and spouses) Ernest Bro, Fred Meyer, Art and Minnie Meyer, Rudolph and Minnie Meyer, Richard and Florence Meyer, Lorenz Meyer and Robert Sciscoe.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.


Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.


Memorials are suggested to Luther Memorial Church, Syracuse Rescue Squad or the family’s choice.
