A woman was injured Feb. 2 when her car struck a horse on I-29.

Jessica Strope, 24, of Addison, N.Y. was transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by Tabor Rescue Feb. 2 after her vehicle struck a horse on I-29 at about 6:40 p.m. Feb. 2.

Strope was southbound at the 20.4 mile of I-29 when the 2003 Nissan Murano she was driving hit one of two loose horses from a field west of the intersteate entered the travel portion of the interstate.

Fremont County sheriff's deputies and Tabor Rescue assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the accident.
