A Dunbar teen is recovering after an accident Saturday, Aug. 25, when the car she was driving collided with a truck and semi-trailer near Highway 50 and 11th Street.


The Otoe County Sheriff's Office reports that Kendal R. Burr, 14, was driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus on 11th Street and pulled onto the Highway 50, which is called Park Street in Syracuse, after stopping at a stop sign.



The truck struck her car broadside, causing the Taurus to spin into the southeast ditch and strike a drainage culvert. The truck hit near the driver's side door. Burr was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the truck, 59-year-old James S. Shupp of Humboldt was uninjured.

Burr, a Syracuse softball player,  is reportedly recovering from bruises, scrapes and cuts.
