Lillian Lucille Marquardt, 99, resident of Jersey Ridge Place in Davenport, Iowa, died Sept. 21, 2011 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf, Iowa. She was born July 23, 1912 in Syracuse to Lee and Lydia (Bro) Plumer.


Lillian Lucille Marquardt, 99, resident of Jersey Ridge Place in Davenport, Iowa, died Sept. 21, 2011 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf, Iowa. She was born July 23, 1912 in Syracuse to Lee and Lydia (Bro) Plumer.

    She attended high school at St. Mary’s Academy in Omaha, graduating from St. Bernard’s High School in Nebraska City.  She attended the University of Arkansas in Texarkana, Ark.  She married Thaddeus Vance in 1938.  She later married John Marquardt in 1953.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister Eleanor Zimmerer; brothers Harold and Maurice Plumer; and daughter Lydia LeRoy.

    She is survived by daughter Eleanor (Robert) Budd; grandchildren Rob (Jen) Budd, Anne (Tory) Hartwig, Jim Schnirl, Lynda Schnirl, and John LeRoy; and eight great grandchildren.

    Lillian Lucille resided in Nebraska City and Lincoln for many years before moving to Davenport, Iowa, in 2008 to be close to her family.  Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, with burial to follow at Wyuka Chapel and Cemetery in Lincoln.

    Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 26, from 5-7 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m.  Online condolences may be left at www.therungemortuary.com.
