‘To This End Shall I Live: My Search for Disability History in Nebraska…’ presented at MJPL

“To This End Shall I Live: My Search for Disability History in Nebraska, 1890-1920” will be presented Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m. by disability writer Amanda VanderBroek at the Morton-James Public Library.

This presentation highlights the stories of several disabled Nebraskans who lived at the turn of the 20th century, from everyday people to an author, film actor, and sideshow performer.

She also shares both the fascinating and frustrating aspects of studying this subject in history and the research process.

Vanderbroek has written and spoken about various issues in disability for over 10 years and holds a master of arts in critical and creative thinking from the University of Nebraska Omaha.

This program lasts about 75 minutes and due to covering subjects including death and abuse, it is not suitable for children. This program is free and open to the public

Morton-James Public Library is located at 923 1st Corso (at 10th Street). On Sunday, please enter from the 10th Street South Street entrance. The Library is only open for the presentation that day and no other Library services will be available.
