The Lourdes girls’ track team scored a third-place team finish last week during action at the Irish Invite on the track at Syracuse High School.
A 70-point team effort finished ahead of the host school, Sacred Heart, at 69. Johnson-Brock scored 117 for first place and Palmyra scored 78 for second place.
On the boys’ side of the meet, the Knights scored 26 points and was eighth in the final standings.
Scoring individual medals for the Knights were Mikena Haag, second, 200 meters, 28.19; third, 100 meters, 13.24; Izzy Fulton, third, 200 meters, 28.37; Brooklyn Borer, second, long jump, 14’11.5”; third, 100 meter hurdles, 17.76; fourth, 100 meters, 13.37; Lauren Benedict, second, high jump, 4’10”; Harper Rutt, third, triple jump, 33’0.25”; Mary Mizner, fourth, 100 meter hurdles, 18.34; fifth, 300 meter hurdles, 55.64; Emily Borer, fifth, 100 meter hurdles, 18.50; sixth, triple jump, 29’3.25”; and Amelia Moody, sixth, 400 meters, 1:05.77.
Relay medals were by the 4×100 team, fourth, 55.58; and the 4×400 team, third, 4:39.14.
Top non-medal winning performances were by Kadence White, shot put; and Lauren Benedict, discus.
Medal winning individual performances by the Knights were Simon Bruggeman, second, triple jump, 38’11.5”; Dominic Schizas, second, long jump, 18’11”; Justus Kreifels, third, discus, 131’6”; sixth, shot put, 41’4”; Tobias Poppleton, sixth, 110 meter hurdles, 18.26; Blue Oggs, sixth, long jump, 18’; and Brady Schnitzer, sixth, 300 meter hurdles, 46.08.
Top non medal winning performances were by Blue Oggs, 100 meters; Simon Bruggeman, 200 meters; Stryder Meade, 400 meters; Nick Fedoris, 800 meters; and Brady Schnitzer and Dominic Schizas, high jump.
