Makayla Vasser has added to her collection of state championships since the conclusion of the high school state tournament in February.

The Nebraska City sophomore won the Nebraska AAA tournament and the Nebraska USA Wrestling Tournament in addition to placing seventh in a national tournament hosted in Des Moines. She wrestled in the 170-pound weight class for both Nebraska AAU and Nebraska USA. The AAU championship was her third title for that organization’s high school division. She also earned a second-place finish in that tournament as a seventh grader.

Makayla will be wrestling at Heartland Duals in Omaha as a member of the Nebraska National Team.
