Isabelle Johnson, a senior on the Nebraska City girls’ golf team, picked up a 10th place medal during action at the Class B state tournament in Gering last week. Johnson, a multi-year state qualifier for the Pioneers, shot 87 over 18 holes on the first day of the tournament and came back with a 91 for 18 holes on the second day of the tournament. The winner of this year’s tournament was Whitney Dahir of Omaha Duchesne. Johnson is pictured with her dad Brian Johnson, a longtime Pioneer assistant coach for both girls’ and boys’ golf. Coach Johnson took on the Head Coach job for the Pioneer golf program this year after the retirement of Coach Scott Kinnison.
