During his presentation at Grimm’s Gardens, Chance Brueggemann also touched on various types of edible mushrooms, including morels, hens of the woods, old man of the woods, and chicken of the woods. He said he considers morels “wonderful” while he also really enjoys the texture of hen of the woods. He noted chicken of the woods is aptly named, as its texture is tender and chicken-like, and he likes old man of the woods, but he added they are messy to cook.
