Scot Davis, Hayward Elementary principal, chased (and caught) a chicken on the south athletic field of the school recently to reward the efforts of students who exceeded their fund-raising goals. Students at Northside and Hayward elementaries raised about $22,000 during the Pioneers on the Move annual fund-raiser. The money will be used for classroom grants, to help with field trip transportation costs, student prizes, and updating the display cases at Hayward.
