Sharon K. Mumm

Sharon K. Mumm, age 79 of Nebr. City passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon Katherine Mumm was born on February 9, 1942 in Carroll, IA; the daughter of Lloyd William and Mary Catherine (Prendergast) Otto. She grew up and attended school in Carroll, graduating from Carroll Kuemper High School with the Class of 1960. On February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry W. Mumm

On February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry W. Mumm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City, NE. Sharon was a wonderful cook and had cooked at every eating

Sharon was a wonderful cook and had cooked at every eating establishment in Nebraska City! Most recently, she cooked at the West Central Bar. She will remembered by many for her delicious cinnamon rolls and runza’s amongst many other things.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Michelle “Shelly” Denniston (Clint) of Nebr. City, Lori Creek (Kevin) of Nebr. City, Stacey Hartman (Craig) of Nebr. City, Nikki Gray (Rob) of Lincoln, NE, Larry “Kip” Mumm (Carrie) of Chesterland, OH, Katie Shannon (Michael) of Nebr. City, Jennifer Mumm (Josh) of Nebr. City and Casey Mumm of Nebr. City; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Larry Otto (Sandy) of Kansas City, MO, Douglas Otto (Charlotte) of Stephenson, VA, Mark Otto (Gaylene) of Colfax, IA and Cynthia Otto of Des Moines, IA; numerous others that called her Momma Mumm, other extended family and many friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry on Feb. 9, 2007, infant (stillborn) son Brian Michael Mumm on May 28, 1981, daughter Carrie Mumm on Nov. 14, 2013, a brother Michael Otto and sister Victoria Otto.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Tom Schultes officiating. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday
