Nancy Jean Kasbohm, age 81 of Nebraska City died January 7, 2022 in Mesa, AZ. Nancy was born October 7, 1940 in Nebraska City to Arnold and Lorena (Copenhaver) Rinne. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethel United Church of Christ. Nancy attended grade school at District #28 and graduated from Dunbar High School. She attended Peru State College from 1957 to 1958 and graduated from Lincoln General School of Nursing in 1961. Nancy and Donald Kasbohm were married August 16, 1961 and she worked at Columbus Medical Center. Nancy and Don moved back to Don’s family farm in 1962. She worked at the Medical Group and ESU #4 and had recently worked at the Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center. She served on the spiritual council, church council and taught Sunday school at Bethel Church. Nancy was active in the women’s division of Capitol Pork Producers and was Porkette of the year in 1989. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their sporting activities and was Booster Club Co-President of NCHS in 1989 and 1990. Nancy served on the board of directors for the Home Run Club (booster club for UNL baseball) for many years and she loved many sports. Don and Nancy were long time UNL football and baseball season ticket holders and she kept the score book for the local legion baseball teams for many years. Nancy enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, where she was active in their park’s church choir. She was also active in an “Ugly Quilt” group, where they made sleeping bags for the homeless in Phoenix.
Survivors include her husband, Donald of Nebraska City; son, David (Pam) Kasbohm of Nebraska City; daughters, Linda (Reno) Cutler of Nebraska City and Karen (Dixie) White of Omaha; grandchildren, Josh White, Zachary White, Timothy White, Jordan White, Malarie Cutler, Jesse Cutler, Trent Kasbohm, Noah Kasbohm and Aubrey Kasbohm; great grandchildren, Oskar and Amelia White; Conor and Elsie Elshire; brothers, Don (Donna) Rinne; Bob (Diann) Rinne; many other relatives and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Dean and Gerald.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City. Private burial services will be held at a later date.
Visitations will be 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
