MJPL hosts Wildlife Encounters at Middle School

Two hundred twenty-four people gathered in the Nebraska City Middle School commons on Thursday, June 26, to learn more about six different animals during the annual Wildlife Encounters presentation hosted by the Morton-James Public Library. Wildlife Educator Jillian Lenz introduced the audience to a blue-and-gold macaw, a champagne ball python, an American alligator, a kinkajou, a fennec fox, and a red kangaroo during her 45-minute program that gave audience members the chance to see the animals up close. A few volunteers even got to pet the python and the alligator. Wildlife Encounters visits Nebraska City each summer as part of the Library’s summer reading program. See more photos from the event online!
