The Nebraska City Farmers Market 2025 summer season continues on Thursday, June 26. The Market is open from 3:45 until 6 p.m. and encompasses the Memorial Building parking lot at the corner of 8th Street and 1st Corso and 8th Street itself from 1st Corso half a block north to the alley.

In action from last week, the Nebraska City American Legion Juniors baseball team fell 18-3 at McKeans Floors on June 18, dropped a 17-2 game at Malcolm on June 19, and fell at Syracuse by the slim margin of 2-1 on June 22.

The Queen Esther Chapter No. 1, Order of the Eastern Star of Nebraska City, and the Western Star Lodge No. 2, AF & AM Masons of Nebraska, recently presented scholarships to five graduating seniors at Nebraska City High School. Receiving the $300 Pearl Ruby Tucker Memorial Scholarship from Worthy Matron Deanne Grant and Scholarship Chair Sister Cathie Hemmer was Breyden Durand, who plans to study computer engineering at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Receiving the $600 Grand Chapter Scholarship was Dylan Cooper, who plans to study biochemistry at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Cooper also received a $500 scholarship from Worshipful Master Paul Wetrosky and Scholarship Chair Dan Miyoshi. In addition to Cooper, $500 scholarships were also presented to Christopher Hinkley, Kaidyn Maybee, and Jayden Adams. Hinkley plans to attend the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, but has not declared a major as yet. Maybee plans to study architecture and construction management at UNL, and Adams plans to study ag business at Midland University.
