President Trump’s First 100 Days

Wednesday, April 30th marks 100 days of Donald Trump’s second Presidency. In that time, President Trump has taken historic action to deliver on his promises. He’s securing the border. He’s cutting wasteful spending and improving efficiency. He’s restoring American strength. He’s also fighting to level the playing field on trade. I’m proud to stand with him.

Legislative Update

We have about six calendar weeks left of the 2025 Legislative Session, which translates to just over 20 days of floor debate. We have begun late-night floor debates, and we begin work on the state budget on Tuesday, May 6.

Nebraska: The Birthplace of Arbor Day

Before Nebraska was called the “Cornhuskers”, we were known as “The Tree Planters.” It seems ironic, given our state is characterized by its expansive Great Plains and rolling Sandhills. However, in 1895, the Nebraska legislature passed a bill establishing Nebraska’s nickname in honor of their tree planting efforts.

Arbor Day Parade 2025

This year’s Arbor Day Parade down Central Avenue occurred on Saturday, April 26 and featured the Color Guard, the Nebraska City Fire Department, Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette, a creative eye glass themed entry by Nebraska City’s Lifetime Vision Center, the Nebraska City middle school and high school bands, an entry by Kregel Windmill, the Syracuse GermanFest Royals, Loretta’s Donut Wagon, DARE students, and Carly the Cardinal, just to name a few.
