NMPP Energy awards Jeff Kohrs with service award
Nebraska Municipal Power Pool (NMPP) Energy awarded Jeff Kohrs, General Manager of Nebraska City Utilities with the Bob Arraj Service Award at the NMPP Energy Annual Conference on March 19.

NCPD K9 Officer Donation
Representatives of Western Star Lodge No. 2 A.F. & A.M. recently donated $1,700 to the Nebraska City Police Department as part of the department’s fund-raising efforts to add a second K9 officer to the force. From left, Western Star Lodge Secretary John Grant and Worshipful Master David Wetrosky present the check to Nebraska City Police Chief Ben Murry and future NCPD K9 handler Officer Jake Stenka. Stenka said an anonymous donor has offered $25,000 toward the new dog if the department matches that amount in its fund-raising. Stenka said the donations are very close to the matching fund mark and he is eager to have the new dog on the force.
