Committee hearings continue and the turnout for the public hearings has been exceptional. It has been inspiring and humbling to meet concerned citizens from across our state.
Lourdes fought ferociously to give itself a chance to reach the girls’ state basketball tournament, but Diller-Odell did just enough as the Griffins escaped with a 55-49 win in district finals action on Friday, Feb. 28.
A season of records and achievements concluded on Feb. 25 for the Nebraska City girls’ basketball team at the subdistrict tournament at Waverly.
Every competitor for the Nebraska City girls’ wrestling team posted a winning record for the 2024-25 season as the Pioneers sent five to the state meet and featured a state champion on its roster in Class A 190-pound champ Makayla Vasser.

The Lourdes boys’ basketball team wrapped up a 6-18 season at the subdistrict tournament with a 59-44 loss to Elmwood-Murdock (14-11).
