The Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired (NCECBVI) is celebrating its 150th anniversary on Friday, March 7, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Saturday, March 1: Nebraska City Apple Corps and Belles-A-Peelin’ 2025 Spring Barbershop Show with special guests First Class, 1 and 7 p.m., Wirth Theatre, Lourdes Central Catholic, 412 2nd Ave. Tickets available from group members.
The 2025 house building season is underway at Casa de la Esperanza, located in Yuma, Ariz., and San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, and volunteers from First Evangelical Lutheran Church have already built the second home of the 2025 season in the first month of the new year.
Nebraska City Master Gardener and gardening enthusiast Rita Beck gave an educational presentation on becoming a Master Gardener at Grimm’s Gardens on Thursday, Feb. 20. Beck volunteers her time and talents to maintain the Victorian Garden at the Wildwood Historic Center. Grimm’s will host a free educational presentation by Aaron and Paige Hill of Prairie Star Botanicals on herbal therapy on Thursday, March 20, at 9 a.m. Grimm’s Gardens is located at 1401 S. 11th St. Call 402-874-9340 for more information.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 covers non-recreational uses of drones weighing between 0.55 to 55 pounds. All drone pilots are required to have a license if they are using their drones for paid work or for non-recreational purposes. This includes industries like emergency management, law enforcement, real state and land management, aerial photography, and agriculture. In agriculture, drones are primarily used for crop monitoring and scouting and checking on livestock. Sray drones are also becoming an important tool in agricultural operations.
The Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Visitor Center is hosting its annual Native American Artifact Show Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
