Solid offense, Snyder pitching lead NC Seniors

A 12-hit offensive and a great pitching performance by a veteran hurler helped push the Nebraska City American Legion Seniors baseball team to its first win of the 2024 summer season in a 10-4 final against Nemaha Sports Construction on the road on Tuesday, June 11.Colton Snyder, a mainstay athlete for the Legion program in recent years, went 5.1 innings on the mound, struck out 11, walked four and allowed four earned runs on six hits.

NCPS to offer new computer science class at high school

Nebraska City High School will add a new computer science and technology education class to its course offerings beginning with the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.The Nebraska City Public Schools board of education approved adding the new class to course offerings for the upcoming school year during the regular June board meeting.The Nebraska Legislature passed a bill requiring computer science and technology education for students beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
