Knight girls narrowly miss finals, finish third at conference

After a first round win over Humboldt-TRS in the first round of the Pioneer Conference tournament, the Lourdes girls’ basketball team narrowly missed making a trip to the tournament finals as the Knights lost an overtime game against the eventual tournament champions, Falls City Sacred Heart.The Sacred Heart Irish edged Lourdes 44-41 in overtime, and then went on to beat Johnson-Brock, 67-60, in the tournament final.

UNO releases fall chancellor’s, dean’s lists

More than 4,800 students are being recognized for their academic achievements during the fall 2023 semester at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) with inclusion on the chancellor’s and/or dean’s list.Each semester, students seeking their first bachelor’s degree who meet or exceed specific grade point average thresholds are selected for inclusion on the chancellor’s list and/or dean’s list at UNO in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.A total of 1,550 students who qualified for the chancellor’s list earned a grade point average of 4.0 for courses taken at UNO during the fall 2023 semester, provided 12 or more quality hours were completed.Area students on the chancellor’s list are: Bennet: Hunter Pope.Douglas: Saleta Randall.Johnson: Caleb Robert Fossenbarger.Louisville: Madeline M.
