Musicians from Nebraska City competed at the District Music Contest at Auburn High School on Friday, April 21. Many of the Nebraska City entries received a rating of superior with Varsity Singers, Harmonia, City Singers-Madrigal, Expressions and Concert Band receiving unanimous superiors from the contest’s three judge panel.
Lourdes Central Catholic had five seventhgrade students receive recognition for their efforts in the 2023 Nebraska Junior Academy State (NJAS) Science Fair, which took place April 20 at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Honorees are as follows: Amelia Moody: Top 10 placement in the NJAS Science Fair; $100 prize for outstanding research.
Earlier this month, members of the Nebraska City FFA Chapter traveled to Lincoln to take part in the Nebraska State FFA Convention. Sarah Knutson, Nebraska City FFA adviser, said the chapter had three State FFA degree recipients, a Creed Speaker, and a Floriculture Team.
