Nebraska is what America is supposed to be

This week, I gave my U.S. Senate Maiden Speech – a long-held tradition for freshman senators to highlight their priorities in an inaugural speech on the Senate floor. The first time I entered the U.S. Senate chamber, I got chills. The chamber and the Capitol building represent the values we’ve held for nearly two and a half centuries. They represent how exceptional our Republic is.

Hindered by pain in your heel?

If you have pain on the bottom of your foot at the heel, especially when you take your first steps of the day, you likely have plantar fasciitis. One of the most common causes of foot pain, plantar fasciitis pain can subside with time, but sometimes the pain keeps people from doing what they love, whether that be running, walking, or other pleasures of life. I once saw a young woman suffering from plantar fasciitis who got some relief from an injection. A few years later she returned wanting another injection so she could dance pain-free at her own wedding.

Otoe County Board of Commissioners

The Otoe County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 28, and took the following actions: Approved a conditional use permit for Frontier Cooperative to operate a refueling station for customers and cooperative vehicles and application machines. The station would be located at 3176 K Rd. and would offer gas, diesel, and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Customers would pay with a credit card, according to Craig Schultz, chief operations officer of Frontier Cooperative.

The Library will host the Saturday, April 22, performance of “The Commedia: Pinocchio” by the York Children’s Theatre at 10 a.m. at Northside School, 1200 14th Ave.
