Knights compete at DC West Quad The Elmwood-Murdock track and field team competed at the Douglas County West Quad on March 23. Medal winners for the Knights were Running events: Ella Zierott, girls 60-meter dash, 8.69; Cade Hosier, boys 60-meter dash, 7.46; Delaney Frahm, girls 60-meter hurdles, 9.96; Riley Wilson, boys 60-meter hurdles, 8.85; Cade Hosier, boys 200-meter dash, 25.00; Delaney Frahm, girls 400-meter dash, 1:05.42; Riley Wilson, boys 400-meter dash, 54.02; Rylie Gordon, girls 800-meter run, 3:03.07; Brooklyn Dowding, girls 1600-meter run, 8:44.59; Zoe Zierott, girls 3200-meter run, 13:37.00; and Aiden Meisinger, boys 3200-meter run, 13:19.86.

Winter NSAA/NCPA award winners named

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce the student recipients of the Winter 2022-2023 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards. Since 2006 this NSAA Awards Program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity.

Important People

Last week, Omaha Westside Superintendent Mike Lucas had a conversation leaked online by “Accuracy in Media,” a government accountability group. In it, Dr. Lucas bragged that his district had some of the “most important” people in the state. These “important people” could be fed talking points by the school district to lobby the legislature to kill bills the Omaha-based school district didn’t like.

Medical School Journey

It has been 9 years since my medical school acceptance. I can describe my personal process in 2 words: arduous and lengthy. Now, this may not be the case for all people that apply to medical school. A few individuals may be able to apply directly out of undergrad and be accepted. I’ll speak from my experience which had a few more detours involved.
