Lourdes Central Catholic announced today that Mr. Taylor Johnson will join Lourdes Central Catholic as the new assistant principal for the 2023-24 school year. Johnson will assume his duties this summer.
The Otoe County Board of Commissioners approved reviewing and updating the county’s personnel policy during the board’s March 14 meeting. Board Chair Jerad Sornson appointed a committee consisting of Otoe County District 1 Commissioner Charles Cole, Otoe County Deputy Attorney Sarah Wiltse, Otoe County Assessor Kristi Smallfoot, Otoe County Clerk Jennifer Bassinger, and Otoe County Sheriff Colin Caudill to review the current policy, with the goal of having a revised policy in place by the end of the county’s fiscal year on June 30.

Nebraska State Troopers removed from the road 12 impaired drivers during the first weekend of a special enforcement operation focused on traffic safety during the NSAA State Basketball tournaments. From Wednesday through Sunday, troopers arrested 12 people for driving under the influence.

The Nemaha Natural Resources District (NRD) is celebrating the Grand Re-Opening of the Steamboat Trace on April 15, 2023. The Grand Re-Opening ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Peru Depot Trailhead located in Peru.
