NDA accepting 2023 NAYI applications

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is currently accepting applications for its biggest youth outreach event - the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI). NAYI brings together hundreds of high school juniors and seniors for one week every year to learn more about Nebraska agriculture, network with ag leaders and discover the many careers available in agriculture.

2023 Tree Workshop takeaways

The Nemaha Natural Resources District (NRD) partnered with the Nebraska Forest Service, Pheasants Forever, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to host a free tree workshop at the Nemaha NRD on Feb. 1. Tree experts from across the State provided information on pests and diseases, windbreak renovation, proper planting and care techniques, considerations for wildlife, and programs available to assist landowners. Takeaways from the event include: Diversity, Drought Impacts, Wildlife Planning, and Assistance.

Lourdes set for State ACADECA

The 2022-2023 Lourdes Central Catholic School Academic Decathlon team had an outstanding showing at the online Regional competition on January 18. The team placed second in the Very Small Schools category and will be compete at State on Feb. 17 and 18.
