Fun, frivolity and a sellout crowd were features of the 98th Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce Banquet and its review of community excellence in 2022. Those in attendance at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center on Saturday, Jan.
This year’s Nebraska City boys’ reserve basketball team features players. Sophomores are Alex Martinez, Jagar Matson and Riley Penney. Freshmen are Jonny Barrett, Landon Ferguson, Mitchell Hodges, Austin Lewis, Jonathan Pineda, Julio Pro, Jonathan Rico, Edwin Sandoval, Mason VonFeldt and Caleb Walker. “We have a 2-4 record with wins over Elkhorn and Beatrice and loses to Auburn, Waverly, Platteview and Plattsmouth,” said Coach John Hodges. “We have games remaining against Blair, Shenandoah (Iowa), Glenwood (Iowa) and Syracuse. We have a great group of young men who are continuing to get better with each practice.”
