Lincoln men arrested after child exploitation investigation Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol Tech Crimes Unit, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), arrested two Lincoln men on Feb. 1 and 2 after a child exploitation investigation.

Wayne State College fall dean’s list Wayne State College included 1,275 students on the dean's list for exemplary academic achievement during the fall 2022 semester. Students listed on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

A trip back to Nebraska’s early days

Last Saturday found me in the Unadilla Community Center, ready to hear one of my favorite speakers from Humanities Nebraska, Jeff Barnes. He was presenting “The ‘Mad’ Queen of the Prairies: The Frenzied First Years of the Nebraska Territory 1854-59” as part of Unadilla’s 35th Groundhog Day celebration, and he did not disappoint this history lover.

No Place Like It!

Look wherever you choose but you will never find another place like Nebraska! Just think about it. One week we celebrate ducks! Another week we celebrate a sleepy little rodent (?) or whatever he or she is and when this week ends we will celebrate a Super Bowl where grown men fight fight over a ball sometimes known as a “pigskin.” The team that gets it over that line the most times wins – big time.

Happy Birthday!

Marilyn Hall is celebrating her 90th birthday on Feb. 22, 2023. Her children would like her friends, neighbors, and family to help her celebrate on Feb 18 in the fellowship hall at First Lutheran Church, in Nebraska City, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of gifts, her children would like her to be showered with cards at the celebration or by mail if unable to attend.
