Dear Editor, This past weekend, I retired after 27 years of active-duty service in the US Army. In accordance with our Army traditions, I conducted a ceremony to mark this event, and I chose to do it in Nebraska City, the place where I grew up, and the community who launched me into West Point and the US Army.

Rotary Club learns about NC Ministerial Association projects

One dictionary definition of minister is 'to attend to the needs of someone.' The Nebraska City Ministerial Association has been doing that on many levels for more than two decades. Three association members—Pastor Don Moore of Calvary Community Church, Pastor Michael Schmidt of the First Christian Church, and Pastor Ever Mudambanuki of the First United Methodist Church of Nebraska City—visited the Nebraska City Rotary Club Nov.

The Angel Tree Project

The Angel Tree Project, a Nebraska City initiative which distributes Christmas gifts to less fortunate families, is collecting gifts for the holiday season. To participate, take a new unwrapped to one of the following drop off locations: Little Teds, The Wheel, Bings, The Downtowner, Dinty Moore’s, West Central, and Pin High (at Table Creek Golf Course).
