NCHS release first quarter honor roll

Nebraska City High School has released its first quarter honor roll. Seniors on the roll are: Gold: Claire Boeche, Jayden Borns, Connor Causgrove, Megan Essary, Elizabeth Luther, Emmalee Moore, Haylee Moore, Lucas Nielson, Larau Perafan Puertas, Kiera Rakowski, Anthony Robinson, Daniela Rojas Amador, Alexa Turner, and Hanna Van Cleave.

Thankful for Football

with Kirt Manion This Saturday’s football slate marks the last “regular feeling” slate of the 2022 college season and Sunday’s games are starting to set the field for the NFL playoffs. That Thanksgiving Day set of games feels anything but normal with NFL games on Thursday and college games on Friday.

Looking out for all of you

Recently, while visiting from out of state, my father had a “health hiccup.” As we navigated getting this problem investigated and addressed, he was very concerned that we keep his primary care doctor informed. As my dad has said repeatedly, “I give him more grief than any of my other doctors, but I also listen to him more than any of my other doctors. He’s the only one looking out for all of me!”

Digging For Beauty

I know the seasons are really changing by observing the garden departments of retail stores. There is one sure fire way for a flower lover to tell. Well, all of the leftover Spring bulbs have been discounted in price. Some have been thrown away by staff that thought it would be more profitable to use the space they took to gear up for Christmas shoppers. I purchased some a few weeks ago and was planting the last of them when Pam Henke surprised me. I was glad she stopped to say “Hi” instead of just driving by. It was good to visit for a few minutes. She had an appointment so she didn’t have time to stop for long. Always great to see Syracuse friends.
