Nebraska City golfers set for state meet

Three Nebraska City golfers finished in the top 10 and qualified as individuals for the state golf meet, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday at Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering. Ella Welsh finished third in the Class B-1 district field with an 86 for her 18 holes on the Table Creek Golf Course at Nebraska City on Monday, Oct.

Keep Nebraska City Beautiful earns gold standing

At the Keep Nebraska Beautiful 2022 Conference at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center last week, Keep Nebraska City Beautiful received Gold standing as a Keep America Beautiful affiliate. Keep Nebraska City Beautiful will host an electronics recycling event tomorrow (Oct. 8) from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rowe Memorial Public Safety Complex, 1518 Central Ave. The group will also host a recycled art event on Nov. 15 as part of America Recycles Day. Fall is a great time to sample soil

Fall is an excellent time to soil sample fields for nutrients following harvest. With the very dry conditions for most of the region, crop yields may be impacted as well as nutrients used by the crop. With the high fertilizer prices, you may be able to save money on your fertilizer bill. In previous years there have been a number of fields in southeast Nebraska that showed signs of nitrogen deficiencies, with potential for other nutrient deficiencies or imbalances.
